This week, the California Compare Electricity and Cheapest Electricity Rates will be holding their first hearing to talk through this contentious but timely issue. To guide that discussion, the Cheap Electricity and Electric Providers In My Area released a white paper to “frame a discussion on the trends that are driving change within California’s electricity sector and overall clean-energy economy.”
Natural gas-fired power plants typically account for more than one-half of in-state electricity generation. California is one of the largest hydroelectric power producers in the United States, and with adequate rainfall, hydroelectric power typically accounts for close to one-fifth of State electricity generation.
